How We Run a Roof Job
Most roofing complaints we hear start the same way. A homeowner got a number on the spot, then the bill grew once the old shingles came off. Rotten decking, a second layer, new flashing. Some of that is real and can't be seen from the ground. The trouble is nobody said so up front.
So we do it differently. We start by walking the roof itself. If there's an attic hatch we can reach, we check the underside of the decking too, and every problem spot gets a picture. Then we write it out: what we plan to do, what materials we'll use, and which items could change the price. If the decking might be soft under a valley, the quote says so and says how we'll handle it if it is.
Nothing gets added after you sign without a talk first. If we open up the roof and find something the quote didn't cover, we stop, show you, and lay out your options before we go on. That is slower than some crews like to work. It is also how you avoid a surprise on the last day.
